“We heartily congratulate David Foster and Katharine McPhee, for the engagement.”

The couple confirmed to PEOPLE about their engagement. McPhee, confirmed the news on social media platform, by mentioning that Foster asked her to be his better-half at the time of their vacation in Italy, which the couple is been stacking on Instagram since few days.

 “Foster asked her on the top of Anacapri Mountain, there were only stars.” She jokingly said, “Thankfully he didn’t push me. He said it was either I say yes or otherwise. And in the end, we returned safely together.”

The couple captured the photographs of each other, turn by turn while a boat ride in Capri that they have shared on Instagram.

The couple is music lovers and first sparked the rumors of the romance in September 2017, after Erin Foster (Foster’s Daughter) shared a photo of them together. Though, Foster and McPhee are friends for years.

When asked about the romance rumors, McPhee replied PEOPLE that she is not interested in answering them. She added, “It is great that people want to make a fuss of it I think that people are surprised with my love life.”

Foster and McPhee have consistently taken prevention from the question related to their dating rumors, but never tried to stay away from public displays of love and even attended the high-profile gatherings together.

The star of Waitress Broadway even shared with Entertainment Tonight that she along with Foster had a great and enjoyable date at the Met Gala of this year, the event couple has participated together.

This marriage will be second for Katharine McPhee, who was earlier married to Nick Cokas, and for David Foster, this will be fifth marriage, which was at the recent married to Yolanda Hadid, star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
